This policy explains what information HVACDecode (hvacdecode.com) collects and how it is used. We do not sell your personal information.
Serial numbers you type
The decoder runs entirely in your browser. The serial numbers you enter are not sent to our servers and are not stored. There are no accounts and no forms.
Analytics (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager)
We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, time on page, approximate location (city or region), device and browser type, and how you arrived (for example from a search engine). Google Analytics uses cookies or similar technologies to do this. We use this information only in aggregate, to improve the site.
Google processes this data under its own policy:how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out with theGoogle Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to see which searches lead people to the site. It gives us aggregate search statistics and does not place cookies on your device.
Amazon affiliate links
When you click a link to Amazon, Amazon may set cookies to attribute any purchase to our affiliate account. Amazon's own privacy notice applies on its site. We receive commission reports, not your personal details.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse.
If you email us at contact@hvacdecode.com, we use your address and message only to reply to you, and delete them when they are no longer needed.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example California under the CCPA, or the European Union and United Kingdom under the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you, or to object to its use. Because we hold almost no personal data, the most effective steps are the opt-out options above. For any request, write to contact@hvacdecode.com.
Children
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
